Antioch is an agricultural world with a tainted atmosphere but still a near-ideal environment for producing foodstuffs. The system supports a population of tens of millions of sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Ushra Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Antioch, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdoms of a baron and a marquis. All three are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. During the Long Night this world was named Kaaruumuug.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
Antioch is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
Much of this world is extremely cold. This has made gathering of the Agadua crop extremely difficult. Most are gathered using remotely-piloted vehicles or (occasionally) by robots.
Antioch is also a rich source of raw materials for several Ushran industries and corporations who are the main employers on the planet. The mining is done within environmentally controlled domes.
History and Background[edit]
During the First Imperium an artists' enclave was established here. Although wiped out during the Long Night, the tradition has continued and Antioch ice sculptures are exhibited as far away as Terra (Solomani Rim 1827).
World Starport (St)[edit]
Antioch has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The following languages are among the most commonly used on this world:
- Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
- Kiriani: The trade language spoken by the majority of Hamaran.
- Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
- Wawa-pakekeke-wawa: The common, precise and bureaucratic language of the Bwaps. Spoken on Bwap-dominated planets and by government functionaries on any world lucky enough to retain a dedicated Bwap workforce.
World Government (G)[edit]
Antioch is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.
