Extremus Sector is located at the coreward and trailing fringe of Charted Space.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Most of this sector is part of an "island" of normal stellar density within the Lesser Rift. The region and any civilizations located here are as yet uncharted, though Human, Vargr and K'kree expeditions might have been launched. It is speculated that Hhkar, Worldships of the Wandering People, and possibly Droyne might be operating here, and there are probably local Minor Races. Conventional jump travel, however, faces the obstacle of the Rift. Perhaps one day technological breakthrough will lead to mass exploration and settlement of the region.
Toponyms: 1116[edit]
This sector has been known by different names to different groups over its existence, including the following:
| Extremus Sector Names | ||
|---|---|---|
| Culture | Toponym | Polity |
| Third Imperium | ? | Third Imperium |
| Aslan | ? | Aslan Hierate |
| Droyne | ? | Droyne Oytrip Yatroy |
| Hiver | ? | Hive Federation |
| K'kree | ? | Two Thousand Worlds |
| Solomani | Extremus | Solomani Confederation |
| Vargr | ? | Vargr Extents |
| Vilani | ? | Third Imperium |
| Zhodani | ? | Zhodani Consulate |
"Extremus" is a Solomani label, acknowledging the sector's position at the edge of Charted Space, distant from Solomani territory. Solomani astrographers have also applied provisional subsector names.
When the Third Imperium gets around to assigning a name to this sector, they will likely default to whatever label the K'kree apply, as with most of the neighbouring sectors.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The closest recognised authority with claims to Extremus is within Nadir Sector; this appears, though, to be little more than charismatic posturing on behalf of a Vargr government. It is not thought that they have any actual assets in the sector.
