The Sirius Gap was a small but strategically important Void in the Solomani Rim Sector now bridged by the Sirius Gap Jump Bridge.
- It is a micro-rift that is traversed by many using a jump bridge.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Sirius (Solomani Rim 1629) sits between the old Terran colony at Fenris (Solomani Rim 1830) and the cluster of worlds centered on Shulimik (Solomani Rim 1530).
- As Sirius is an asteroid belt system without gas giants or any other natural source of fuel, bypassing Sirius requires a jump-3 ship or better.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
In ancient times, there was no way for ships to refuel in the Sirius system, so passing between Fenris and Shulimik or Markhashi (Solomani Rim 1529) required considerable logistical planning.
- This fact was of strategic significance during the Interstellar Wars, and again during the Long Night.
- During the Iilike-Sirius War a vital refueling station in Sirius was destroyed.
- Today, the Sirius Gap has once again been “filled in” by a new complex of refueling stations at the Sirius Belt, a functional jump bridge.
