The Wootan class Sopolian Scout Car is a combatant groundcraft.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Wootan class Sopolian Scout Car, TL-6: The vehicle a member of a family of military vehicles from the planet Sopol (world). They are sealed with a fire suppression system and air conditioning in addition to having over pressure versus chemical / bacteriological / and nuclear threats. It is a light weight 6x6 wheeled scout vehicle armed with an stabilized, 2cm hyper velocity, gas operated, single barreled auto cannon and a TAC missile in the turret. The vehicle's 2.5m³ wheeled suspension combined with a low ground pressure ensures that it will never get stuck off road. It has a higher road speed, but typical of wheeled vehicles it is slower off road than its sibling tracked vehicles.

5. hardpoints
  • One stabilized turret, fully rotating with a 2cm hyper velocity, gas operated, single barreled auto cannon and a TAC missile on the chassis deck.
6. Armament The stabilized, turret mounted auto canon can engage 8 targets/phase. The gun has a +1 signature when it fires. There is storage for 1,600 rounds, enough for 20 fire phases. It has an 80 ROF and a full load of KEAP ammo is included in the purchase price. Its other direct fire characteristics are:

There is a tube missile launcher in the turret on the chassis deck. The launcher carries a single operator guided missile with a wire command link, included for the purchase price. These missiles are 8.4kg and carry a 9cm HEAP 32 warhead. These missiles have a +1 DM to hit and a 4km range.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Designed and manufactured at TL–6, these vehicles were commissioned and license built for the certain military clients on Sopol (world), in the Abidal Subsector of the Halcyon Sector in the Distant Fringe. The vehicle's two man crew have their hands full to say the least. Some of these vehicles have found their way into other military inventories. Some have been captured in battle and some have been sold on the open market. They are not specifically designed for desert combat, the Paratha Combat Brigade has had trouble with their lack of intake compression. The Parathan Forces are fond of their weapons and speed. They are small, light and inexpensive. They are essentially unarmored. These serve as reconnaissance vehicles in the Sopolian Regimental Combat Teams. There is a rumor that these vehicles are named after a dangerous organism native to the planet Sopol.
