History & Background / Dossier[edit]
In the 1110s, K'kree merchant vessels leaving Tuktaar were on several occasions attacked, disabled, and boarded, their cargo holds ransacked and their entire crew and crew-family contingent killed. It was believed that Human raiders were responsible for the carefully-executed raids, but the local naval forces were unable to catch them in the act. The motive for the attacks seemed to be an intent to hijack cargoes of !!xug'k, a mild narcotic to K'kree but extremely addictive to Humans.
In fact, the attackers were Lalendri dissidents who had obtained small, Human-built starships from a group of Humans selling them various weapons in exchange for !!xug'k. The dissidents were equipping themselves for a hoped-for uprising against K'kree domination on Lalendris.
World Starport[edit]
Tuktaar has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
- There is an associated Naval Base.
World Population (P)[edit]
Tuktaar has a population of 10,000,000,000 sophonts (tens of billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
World Demographics[edit]
The majority population are K'kree. Local client races like Lalendri and Mazjaru are also present in some numbers.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
- !kee: The common language used by K'kree throughout the Two Thousand Worlds.
- Mazjaru language: The native tongue of a common, lowly K'kree servitor race.
- Raxkiir: A language developed by clients of the K'kree, a heavily derived variant of !kee suitable for humanoid use. It is commonly used by those trading with K'kree interests, as well as client races acting on behalf of the Two Thousand Worlds.
World Technology Level[edit]
Tuktaar possesses a Technology Level of TL–15 or TL-F in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Meson Communicators and Pseudo Reality Communications.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, improved collectors, and advanced Fusion+.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Advanced gravcraft.
- Air: Advanced gravcraft and speeders.
- Space: Advanced gravcraft and G-Carriers.
- FTL: Jump Drive-6.
World Government[edit]
Tuktaar is a K'kree world, ruled by a Steppelord who answers only to the Steppelord of the Two Thousand Worlds
World Law Level[edit]
K'kree worlds do not use a fixed Law Level scale, other than to forbid weaponry to anyone of any race who is not of the K'kree Warrior/Bodyguard caste or an active member in the military of the Two Thousand Worlds (which makes them a Warrior caste temporarily).
- Generally, K'kree justice is merciful to other K'kree. Misunderstandings and the rare criminal matters are judged by the Krurruna (herd "boss") or their representatives. Their decisions are final, and obedience is near-absolute. Towards non-K'kree, the authorities are far less charitable, as K'kree are highly chauvinistic and mistrustful of aliens.
