Ushanghi is a high-population, industrial world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- Its economy is rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to rapidly improve barring outside forces.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Sotri Subsector of Lishun Sector.
- It is known to the Nunclees as Trenamii.
Description / Astrography & Planetology[edit]

System Data[edit]
The fifth world, Usugua, is also partially habitable by Humans. Two different terraforming companies have established settlements there.
The worlds of the system are as follows:
- The mainworld: Ushanghi AKA Trenamii, fourth planet.
- Two moons: Yui and Dretai.
- x7 secondary rocky worlds (including Usugua, the fifth planet).
- x5 gas giants (two -- the ninth and fourteenth planets -- being large gas giants).
- x2 planetoid belts.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Ushanghi is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Ushanghi has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- The dense atmosphere features notoriously wild weather systems, and centuries of industrial pollution have not improved matters.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
The Hydrosphere is listed as 8; most of this drains into the rock, creating vast swamps on the surface instead of seas, or else is locked in the atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]
The equatorial region is dominated by thick, muddy swamps and steaming jungles, rich with native plant and animal life. Toward either pole, the swamplands give way to relatively lifeless rocky plains and low mountains. Despite the abundant hydrographic percentage, there are no large seas. Most areas drain into honeycombed rock that reaches miles below the surface. Much of the world's water is also continuously locked in the atmosphere and its terrific weather systems.

Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
This damp world teems with native life.
History & Background / Dossier[edit]
Bell*Trenton Chemical was one of the first companies to establish facilities here, back in the first decades of the Third Imperium.
World Starport[edit]
Ushanghi has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Ushanghi has a population of 1,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
World Demographics[edit]
World Technology Level[edit]
Ushanghi possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Advanced automobiles.
- Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government[edit]
Ushanghi is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
