Shuli is a nonindustrial, fluidic hellworld with a population struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment.
- A fluid world has an oceanic geography consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Cytrialin Unity in the Nejim Subsector of Leonidae Sector.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
This system is a part of the Adshum Main.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Shuli is part of the Vale Cluster, one of the "trade clusters" of Cytrialin space.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Shuli has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Shuli has a population of 3,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Demographics[edit]
Nearly 100% of the population are Lamura, consisting of the human Lamura Teg and the non-human Lamura Gav.
World Languages[edit]
The Cytrialin language is a derived form of an old Vilani dialect.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Shuli possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early meson communicators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, early collectors, and advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-5.
World Government (G)[edit]
Shuli is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
World Law (L)[edit]
Shuli has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Culture[edit]
The guiding philosophy of the Lamura people is a lengthy work called the Cytrialin. The Cytrialin is both a rough and biased history of the Lamura peoples as well as a complex system of ethics and morality, alongside a compilation of practical advice for life. Because so many of the Lamura are noted for reading or quoting the Cytrialin when in distress or seeking answers to a difficult problem, they have gained a reputation for being fanatics and impractical mystics, though the text is noted for genuinely effective systems for practical problem solving.
