Mainworld Data[edit]
Technically this is a balkanized world, but the populations of the tiny countries located on the various small islands are insignificant. The only government of true import is that of the country in existence on the main landmass.
The capital city of the major nation is D'Riin.
Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]
Landmass consists of one major continent and scattered islands.

History & Background / Dossier[edit]
Despite being virtually in the middle of the Third Imperium's sphere of influence, Shibasiim (as this world was once known) wasn't formally contacted for decades. Sylean Federation scouts had made convert observations in -38, but saw the world as being of little economic consequence; it was, after all, at a low tech level, with (at the time) a small population, and very little land.
The population grew enormously once the Imperium took interest.
The company Aykthul Industries achieved considerable control over the government of Shiirand (at the time still known most commonly as Shibasiim), when valuable uranium deposits were discovered. Since local technology provided neither the means nor the incentive for extraction, Aykthul was awarded a contract. In return, the government of Shibasiim received a reasonable fee for each ton transported offworld. This arrangement seemed suitable to both parties, and work began within a few months. However, as Aykthul workers began to arrive on the planet, the citizens started to show the first signs of dissatisfaction with their rulers. It was whispered that the ruling caste, traditionally psionic, was using their powers to violate the privacy of every citizen. Aykthul began planning to send a mercenary force to help "liberate" the population and destroy the psionicist government. They would then put a puppet government in place, which would allow the exportation of resources from the world without recompense.
Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]
Shiirand, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdom of a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversees affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight, the Imperial representative to the world.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial count.
World Starport[edit]
Shiirand has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Core Anglic, a dialect of one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
World Technology Level[edit]
Shiirand possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government[edit]
Shiirand has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
World Military[edit]
No information yet available.
World Economy[edit]
In the first decades of the Third Imperium, Aykthul Industries had a very lucrative operation on this world as well as the two adjacent worlds Gipkikhar and Imdi Mi. It was rumored that the current government was just a puppet of Aykthul Industries.
