Sangre is a vacuum world, with a complete lack of atmosphere. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a Human dominated Non-Aligned world in the Cotan Subsector of Empty Quarter Sector.

History and Background[edit]

Sangre was originally settled by an anti-Vargr pseudo-religious group, the Order of One. Exiled from Pramas (Empty Quarter 2504) during the 950s, the Order has shifted to a technocratic government focused on taming their world - and killing Vargr pirate raiders. Few pirates venture near their homeworld, but the rest of the system is as dangerous as anywhere else in the Ssilnthis Zone.

Sangre is a barren, airless world; far too mundane for an organization as ambitious as the Order of One. Rumors continue to circulate, claiming that the Order is quietly relocating to a more hospitable dwelling place, and "what the Hegemon doesn't know won't hurt him." Not a pretty home, for the Order of One Sangre will do for now -- especially as the millions of near-orbit rocks helps discourage both casual visitors and Vargr raiders.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Sangre has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Sangre has a population of 70,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
  • The population are Human.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Sangre possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:

World Government (G)[edit]

Sangre is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

World Law (L)[edit]

Sangre has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
