History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

By mutual agreement, Palompi is occupied only by a small group of theologians from the Federation of Amil and social scientists from the Viyard Concourse, who argue endlessly in the hope of finding something resembling common ground.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Palompi has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

  • Space traffic control in the Federation of Amil is a bit strange, since some stellar phenomena are considered holy and thus grounds to stop everything and give thanks. Some orbital regions are "auspicious" and permitted only to suitably anointed crews from among the Faithful.

World Population (P)[edit]

Palompi has a population of 400,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

World Government (G)[edit]

Palompi is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

World Military[edit]

There are two organized Holy Federation Army divisions in this system, as in every Federation of Amil system. As Palompi is comparatively underpopulated, it has a higher percentage of outworld personnel assigned.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Palompi has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Palompi possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Advanced automobiles.
    • Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
    • Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
    • Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
