Oad is an agricultural world.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It is an independent Droyne world in the Andakeg Subsector of Ktiin'gzat Sector.
- There is a Corsair Base of some description within this system.
- This world contains an archaeological site with suspected high-tech remnants of the now-vanished Ancients precursor race.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
This world is part of the Li Rar Knot.
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Oad is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Oad has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Oad has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
This Droyne world is universally known as a place to avoid if you value your health.
The listed law level is suggested for anyone hoping to have a chance of surviving a visit to this world. The Technology Level is recorded as zero (0) only because nobody has an estimate of their capabilities. For these reasons, Oad carries the sector's only Red Zone classification.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Oad does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.
Outsiders are not at all welcome here, and no facilities exist for them.
World Population (P)[edit]
Oad has a population of 30,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).
World Demographics[edit]
The population consists of Droyne.
Droyne organise themselves into oytripin, which consist of multiple tyafelmin and dreskayin, and can produce kroylosses.
World Languages[edit]
- Oynprith
- Droyne Languages: Oynprith is a ceremonial and ritualistic language apparently universal among Droyne communities. Other languages are used in casual day-to-day affairs.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Oad possesses a Technology Level of TL–0.
- These worlds often contain a Proto-Sophont species beginning to establish a nascent civilization and society.
- This world is in its Alpha Period and has not yet been interfered with by a higher technology civilization.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Bodily communicative apparati, courier-runners, and smoke signals.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Bodily muscle.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Bodily locomotion, riding beasts, and litters or sedan chairs.
- Water: Swimming, rafts, and canoes.
- Air: Typically not available unless a bodily ability.
(See note above)
World Government (G)[edit]
Unknown, though presumably a variation on the typical Droyne system.
World Law (L)[edit]
Oad has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
