Description (Specifications)[edit]
Morlock is the nickname given to the Human Chimera living on Khusgulur (Dagudashaag 2525). The Morlocks are Human stock, and are still capable of interbreeding with other Human races.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The surface of Khusgulur is only marginally habitable and the original population were miners living in the deep mines they created. They underwent a forced evolution during the Second Imperium and Long Night, required for their survival when they discovered that they could no longer leave following the large-scale collapse of interstellar travel and commerce.
They have become photophobic (unable to cope with bright lights), agoraphobic (fear of open spaces) and have adapted so well to living off the native flora and fauna that they now need certain unique enzymes found only in that particular food-chain to survive. Their enzyme dependence makes it impossible for them to colonize other planets, and their limited living space requires them to have strictly enforced population controls.
The modern Morlocks share their world (which is a member of the Third Imperium) with Graytch. The Morlocks have their tunnels; the Graytch build on the surface. For their part, the Graytch are pleased with this; the arrangement is reminiscent of their relationship with the Thay-tra of their homeworld.
