Lanyard is a nonindustrial water world, which has 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water.
- The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- This world is also the overall capital of an interstellar government with the massive extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
- It is a member of the Lanyard Colonies in the Drinsaar Subsector of Reaver's Deep Sector.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
This world is the capital of the Lanyard Colonies, four systems clustered together in the Drinsaar Subsector of Reaver's Deep Sector.
The Lanyard Colonies were settled around 995 by Solomani fleeing the Solomani Rim War. These worlds had been previously settled by Aslan during the Long Night but were abandoned after the Peace of Ftahalr. Each world was subsequently named in honour of the first ruling Human governor.
World Starport[edit]
Lanyard has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
Language[edit]
- Galanglic (specifically, the Rim Galanglic dialect)
