Karrana'ch is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other forms. The system has a population between 100,000 and 10 million sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Mimu Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Karrana'ch, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight and the fiefdom of a baron. Both are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. This is the homeworld of the Corsettin, an extinct Minor Race. During the Long Night this world was named Kauum.
Astrography and planetology[edit]
Karrana'ch is a member of the Vilani Main.

Point of Interest: Poloymorphic lifeforms[edit]
Karrana'ch is one of only two worlds in the sector to have developed polymorphic fauna. A surprisingly high percentage of the native life forms are shape-changing. The majority of the creatures have an inflatable layer of epidermis which they can alter as required and an internal structure made up of a flexible cartilage which can apparently be reshaped at will. Despite the rarity of polymorphic life forms, little research has been carried out.
History and background[edit]
The world is the home to the extinct minor race, the Corsettin. No one really knows why the Corsettin died out, though some sensatonalists have attempted to link it with the complete disappearance of the first Vilani colony early in the First Imperium. Scientists have proved that the Corsettin civilization had already disappeared sometime before -360,000 and could not have still been around at the time of the planet's rediscovery. Karrana'ch holds a substantial S'mrii population who have been extremely active in preventing Corsettin artefacts from being exported off world.
Of particular note are the fine wines and liquors, all products of an extensive and rich natural flora. Large agrocombines, as well as small independent producers, make an excellent living trading these ever-valuable commodities to the rest of the sector. Grants have been freely available (up to recent times) to those wishing to set up business on the rich land. Many retired military veterans, bureaucrats and nobles have taken the chance to retreat and settle on Karrana’ch. Many have invested their pensions in a bid to start a new and quieter life.
