Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
This world is located on the Cytrial Main.
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
K'Mara has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
K'Mara has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
World Starport (St)[edit]
K'Mara has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
K'Mara has a population of 40,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).
World Demographics[edit]
The population is more than 95% Karhyri. Groups of visiting alien traders and tourists are commonly encountered.
World Languages[edit]
- Karhyr: The common Karhyri language.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
K'Mara possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
K'Mara is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.
Specifically, the Karhyri are ruled by a caste of "servants of honor", which functions as a group akin to priests and administrators. They have been codified by Imperial scholars as a civil service bureaucracy, but they are more complex than that.
Law[edit]
Laws (in the form of accepted customs, modes of behaviour and "debts of honor") are strict in the Karhyri Worlds, but society seems content with this well-ordered existence.
World Culture[edit]
Karhyri have a socially-oriented caste system (distinct from their biological caste system, though members of each genetic caste are typically found in certain social castes). Integrity and personal honour are essential to their culture.
World Economy[edit]
The Karhyri have no concept of commerce law. All dealings are governed by their normal rules of personal integrity and honourable conduct.
