System Data[edit]

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Izivr is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Izivr has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. This atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds, which requires the use of a Filter Respirator Combination Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Izivr has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History and Background[edit]

A small Zhodani settlement was established on Izivr long before the Vargr began to settle in Gvurrdon Sector. When the Vargr arrived, the local Zhodani remained unaware that they were sharing their world with another race for nearly a decade. Over time, both societies expanded and their borders grew closer together. The difference between the cultures and lack of understanding was too great and tensions increased. Some of the Vargr liked their Zhodani neighbours but others did not, especially the Zhodani insistence on rules and regulations.

Isolated fights started and border skirmishes often broke out. Emissaries were often employed to keep the peace and through careful negotiations, all-out war was prevented for many centuries. However, competition between Vargr and Zhodani manufacturers remained high. The Zhodani were able to produce technology beyond the understanding of Vargr engineers but the Vargr workforce was more productive. The corporate wars and political battles ultimately merged together and around –3200 the Izivr War finally broke out between the Zhodani and three Vargr factions. The war continued for several years until the Zhodani Consulate intervened and deployed a large army to end the conflict.

World Starport[edit]

Izivr has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Izivr has a population of 9,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

World Languages[edit]

World Government (G)[edit]

Izivr has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Izivr has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Three broad categories of crime are recognized by the Zhodani Consulate: inadvertent, incited, and insane. The concept of premeditated crime for personal gain fits under the insane heading.

  • Inadvertent crime is an unintentional violation or infraction of the law, resulting from inattention. For minor cases the usual punishment is a small fine.
  • Incited crime is an infraction of a law brought about by another, often resulting from an overreaction to inadvertent crime or misfortune. The solution is re-education.
  • Insane crime is a general heading for most major crimes against property or individuals.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Izivr possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
    • Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
    • Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
    • Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
    • FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
