Native Sophont (NIL): Yslai[edit]
The Yslai are a Minor Race of cucumber-shaped "plantimals", widely known for the extremely hierarchical society, often characterized by observers as a "hive society".
- Their name for themselves is unintelligible to Humans, as the Yslai language is droning sound to which articulated phase modulations, detectable to the Human and Aslan ears as subtle changes in the timbre of the sound.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
It is a member of the Islaiat Dominate in the Keiar Subsector of Reaver's Deep Sector.
By -1000 Islaiat was the centre of a Human Reaver kingdom that included all systems in its five-world cluster. By -900 Islaiat found itself on the defensive against the aggressive Loakhtarl clan of Aslan. An alliance with the trading clan Tralyeaeawi helped stabilise Islaiat, as did the rise of Arielism, a religion that swept through the worlds of the Islaiat Cluster. As the Aslan withdrew from Keiar Subsector during the Cultural Purge and following the Peace of Ftahalr, Islaiat claimed the abandoned worlds; these formed the basis of the Islaiat Dominate.
World Starport[edit]
Islaiat has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Technology Level[edit]
Islaiat possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-4.
World Government[edit]
Islaiat is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are young governments, coming as a recent change and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.
Islaiatko Azar X is, as of 1105, the temporal ruler of the Islaiat Dominate.
