Himrai is a rich, agricultural, nonindustrial garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts and high-grade living conditions due to a bustling economy.

  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
  • Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
  • This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
  • It is a member of the Karhyri Worlds in the Syzlin Subsector of Crucis Margin Sector.
  • Nearly 100% of the population is composed of Karhyri.
  • Less than 10% of the population is composed of humans and other non-human sophonts.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

World Starport (St)[edit]

Himrai has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

2,000,000 Karhyri.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Himrai possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.

World Government (G)[edit]

Himrai has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.

Karhyri nations are ruled by a caste of "servants of honor", akin to priests and administrators. They have been codified by Imperial scholars as civil service bureaucracies, but they are more complex than that.

Law[edit]

Laws (in the form of accepted customs, modes of behaviour and "debts of honor") are strict in the Karhyri Worlds, but society seems content with this well-ordered existence.

World Culture[edit]

Karhyri have a socially-oriented caste system (distinct from their biological caste system, though members of each genetic caste are typically found in certain social castes). Integrity and personal honour are essential to their culture.
