History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

As of 1105, Geker is a discard of the Democracy of Greats polity in its slow creep Coreward.

World Starport[edit]

Geker has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

  • Surrendered to its fate as an almost-vacuum stepping stone mainworld, the forgotten, B-rated Downport is now barely maintained by the population of 3,000 Vargr.

World Technology Level[edit]

Geker possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
    • Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
    • Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
    • Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
    • FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.

World Government[edit]

Geker has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.

World Military[edit]

Without law and with only individual decency for a government, Geker is a little-used route, even for smugglers or Navy patrols from the apathetic Democracy of Greats. It has almost nothing to offer even at TL 9.

World Economy[edit]

Imports keep the Downport in business due to clandestine investment in the Zathurrue slave trade to Rimward.

Historical Data[edit]

With no local Gas Giants, a lack of water, and few natural resources, Geker is no longer a financial burden upon the departing Democracy of Greats. For some time after the world was forsaken, the inhabitants had some hope of annexation by another polity such as the Oculus Alignment or the Bakne Alliance, but neither have crossed the Zarthurrue Subsector, for different reasons.
