Damzi is a poor, non-agricultural, high-population desert world, with a billion or more sophonts struggling to survive in a inhospitable environment.
- This world has no free-standing water.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- Despite this world's industrial prowess, the world remains poor. Some blame it on the high prices of food, which must be imported. Others blame the nature of a desert world. Whatever the reason, something needs to change in order for this world to prosper.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Noir Deep Subsector of Ley Sector in the Domain of Gateway.

History & Background / Dossier[edit]
Damzi was settled when a misjumping colony ship was separated from a convoy launched by the Rule of Man. Trying to make the best of the marginal world at which they ended up, the colonists succeeded quite well, but while life is pleasant enough here, economic and industrial stagnation has resulted due to all resources going toward support of the large population.
Virtually the entire world’s industrial production is used for subsistence, such as building machinery to serve the vast irrigation networks required to grow crops. The local diet is almost entirely vegetarian due to the lack of animal species capable of surviving in these conditions.
Imperial High / Landed Nobility[edit]
Damzi, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of two members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.
World Starport[edit]
Damzi has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Technology Level[edit]
Damzi possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government[edit]
Damzi is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. The bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucracy or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence like the military.

World Economy[edit]
Exports are minimal, meaning there is no money for investment or to buy offworld goods. Merchant captains expecting to find a vast market for consumer goods due to the massive population here wind up disappointed.
Some locals call for an austerity campaign, accepting a lower standard of living for a generation in order to build an economy capable of moving past simple maintenance of the population. However, the initial advocates of this idea were discovered to be spending government money on their own lifestyles whilst calling for the general population to sacrifice, so the political campaign has stalled.
