Chorikhnare is a pre-agricultural and nonindustrial world lacking adequate development for its economy to become prosperous.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- It is a member of the Gerontocracy of Ormine in the Kyaenkha Subsector of Dark Nebula Sector.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below standard for Charted Space.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
World Starport[edit]
Chorikhnare has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Chorikhnare has a population of 80,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population consists entirely of Ormine.
World Languages[edit]
Urbanization[edit]
Ormine cities are always built around water and include large submerged sections every bit as busy as the dry areas.
World Technology Level[edit]
Chorikhnare possesses a Technology Level of TL–3.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Printing press, the mechanical telegraph, and the first audio recordings.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Coal or other simple hydrocarbon fuels and early steam engines.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Bicycles and early steam coaches with advanced roadways.
- Water: Advanced sailing and early steam engine ships.
- Air: The earliest hot air balloons.
World Government[edit]
Chorikhnare is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to draft the policies voted upon. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by the voting population.

World Timeline[edit]
- -1884: The Solomani (Terrans) make First Contact with the Ormine.
- -1870s: After years of laborious negotiations, the Terrans are able to reach a trade agreement giving the Ormine access to jump drives and other early stellar technology.
- -1082: The aggressive Htiokh clan of Aslan conquer the Human world of Godoro, later known as Tenarna, killing all Humans there. The Godoro Massacre is a wake-up to all nearby Human (and allied) worlds, and in response mutual defence alliances and new federations are formed; the Ormine settlements are formally incorporated into the current Gerontocracy of Ormine.
