Description (Specifications)[edit]

Bwaps originated on their homeworld of Marhaban in the Empty Quarter. During the era of the Ziru Sirka (First Imperium/Vilani hegemony) the Bwaps were valued for their skills and services working alongside many of the Vilani and other peoples, leading to the steady gradual spread of Bwaps into surrounding sectors. After the Rule of Man (Second Imperium/Terran Ramshackle Empire) during the centuries of the Long Night most Bwap communities were mainly concentrated in the Empty Quarter around their homeworld, with additional isolated populations in Antares Sector, Dagudashaag Sector, Zarushagar Sector, and Vland Sector; however, some small communities could be found as far away as the Vargr Extents to coreward and the Solomani Rim Sector to rimward, often in close association with Vilani and other Humaniti.

During the final centuries of the Long Night and the early years of the Third Imperium many Bwap communities expanded outward from the central region: by -480 they were cooperating with the expanding Sylean powers, and by Year Zero Marhaban had become a minor trade nexus, with Sylean, Vargr, Vilani, and Menderes traders routinely stopping over. After the centuries of the Pacification Campaigns and the Julian War, Bwaps were again found in large numbers throughout the coreward and central Imperial sectors, and smaller groups were known to travel far away into frontier regions beyond the borders of the Third Imperium.

During the Golden Age there are now Bwaps in all Imperial sectors and most of the surrounding zones, with some bravely venturing into the territories of the Vargr, Zhodani, Aslan, Solomani, Hivers, and even the K'kree. The vast majority of heavily populated Bwap communities are still found in the subsectors near Marhaban, but some small populations are known to flourish hundreds of light-years away.
