Bruda is a low-population garden world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in population size.
- It is a garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most forms of sophontic life.
- Both the population and economy of this world are expected to grow in the near future barring outside forces.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Clatt Subsector of Matzen Sector.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
- The mainworld name is pronounced "Broo-daar"

Binary Solar System
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
- Bruda has an orbital period of 309.88 days
- The rotational period for Bruda is 18.55 hours
- The planet has an axial tilt of 20 degrees
- The planet is in the process of being terraformed and the surface temperature of the planet is being slowly reduced. It is still hot c40c all year round however this is effectively countered by equipment and gear used by those who call Bruda home.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Bruda is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.
- The planet has a diameter of 8951 miles / 14321 kilometres
- Bruda has a molten core with a density of 0.94 standard
- The surface gravity of the planet is 0.94 standard and is therefore classified as having normal gravity
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Bruda has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
- The atmosphere is currently being terraformed using microbes to drive a consistant change across the planet surface.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Bruda has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Satellites:[edit]
- Bruda has no satellites in orbit.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
- The large terraforming activity has created large swathes of proto-flora across the planetary surface through the manipulation of the atmosphere and hydrosphere.
- Away from the large areas small pockets of lichen and other flora types have started to grow.
- The planet also has thousands of crystal deposits across the surface that have multiple uses in technology applications . It is these deposits that brought the original colonists to the planet.

World Starport (St)[edit]
Bruda has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
Facilities[edit]
Port facilities within the system include:
- Located at the starport there are several large laboratories and associated storage and warehousing.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Bruda possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion, and the most fundamental atomic energy.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ground cars or automobiles and tracked vehicles.
- Water: Large ships and submersibles with steel hulls.
- Air: Early aircraft including seaplanes and very early unmanned rockets.

- Communications:6 - Television
- Medical:4 - Early Vaccination, Antiseptics

- Air Transport:6 - Early Jet Aircraft, Helicopters
- Space Transport:5 - Early Rockets, Satellites
- Personal Military:5 - Explosive Grenades, Shotguns
- Heavy Military:5 - Armoured Vehicles, Mortars
- It should be noted that the colonists and their technology standard is the planetary baseline.
- The terraformers located on the planet are operating at a technology level far higher eg TL 13. The local population have chosen to isolate themselves and do not take advantage of the potential for higher technological capability.
World Government (G)[edit]
Bruda is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to write the policies voted on. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by voting population.
- The world government represents the original colonists on Bruda who had settled there in crystal mining colonies c150 years ago. In addition to these colonists the corporation now terraforming the planet has their own secure compound(s) and indeed operate the starport located on the surface. This does cause friction with the locals who take steps to avoid interactions with the "interlopers" who have polluted their world.
World Military[edit]
- Bruda has no regular military presence on the planet. There is however a contingent of security personnel based at the starport to provide security for the terraformer's.
World Law (L)[edit]
Bruda has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Portable energy weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
- The law level both in and around any of the terraformer facilities is more akin to law level rating of 6. Mucht tighter controls are maintained and security is clearly more robust in nature.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 4 (scarce)
- Labor: 2 (hundreds)
- Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
- Efficiency: -2 (fair)
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -2 (very unimportant)
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Bruda has a population of c.7000
- The population consists of c6500 local colonists and c500 scientists and corporate operatives / security etc that are working on the terraforming programme.
Urbanization[edit]
- The local colonists have a number of small urban areas located many hundreds of miles from the terraforming facilities. These urban areas are centred around large crystal deposits that the colonists mine and using old jump capable ships trade with the surrounding systems.
- The largest urbanisation is the starport and surrounding compound established by the terraformers.
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogeneity: 4 (harmonious)
- Acceptance: 1 (extremely xenophobic)
- Strangeness: 3 (somewhat typical)
- Symbols: 6 (somewhat concrete)
