Banserada is an icy, non-agricultural and nonindustrial world, whose surface is ice-capped and with nearly all of its water frozen.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Lowton Subsector of Gateway Sector.
- This world has a colony at Boden (world).
Description[edit]
This system is a member of the Boden Reach.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The entire population is employed by The Austen Group, a business conglomerate which also controls Boden. The Austen Group makes a good profit from trade passing from the Akeena Union into Tm Shanmai Subsector.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Banserada has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Banserada has a population of 3,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Banserada possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government (G)[edit]
Banserada is governed by a Non-charismatic Dictatorship. A continuation of the charismatic dictatorship, where the original leadership has died or retired and replaced by allies or protégés. The reasons for the change in government remain as well as the assertion of rights to rule.
Economy[edit]
Banserada builds a few starships for local clients. These are mostly small, as there is only one largeship yard and this is always busy. The large yard maintains and repairs the smaller yards, which are mobile and have their own jump drives. Occasionally a mobile yard from Banserada is sighted in a system many parsecs from home. The entire infrastructure of The Austen Group could in theory relocate if needed.
