Arkhuu has a population between 10,000 and 10 million sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. Government control of this world is by an external military force. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Arnakhish Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Arkhuu, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships. During the Long Night this world was named Shar.

Point of Interest: Terraforming Project

Arkhuu is a terraformed world on the brink of collapse. The world was terraformed into an agricultural paradise during the Rule of Man but over the last two hundred years the planet has begun to revert. All but a few crops have failed.

History and Background

Arkhuu has a single continent which had originally been reclaimed from the sea. The land is now gradually returning to the sea and much of the land consists of deep mud covered with a sun-baked crust. Arkhuu has appealed for financial help to reclaim the planet but to date without success. The colony is gradually dwindling and retreating further and further inland, leaving their coastal cities to fall into the sea. Every year over one hundred Akruuans fall prey to the mud as they fall through the algae covered crusts and drown in the lakes of the liquid mud beneath the surface.

World Starport (St)

Arkhuu has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

• The world is host to an Imperial Naval Base, hosting elements of the 205th Fleet.

Arkhuu has a population of 4,000,000 sophonts (millions).

• This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

Arkhuu has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors).
