Arend is a nonindustrial fluid world.
- A fluid world has an oceanic geography consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Ahrhi Subsector of Old Expanses Sector in the Domain of Sol.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

System Data[edit]
Most charts suggest that there is no gas giant in this system. This appears to be inaccurate, and is perhaps intended to provide security to the youngest of the Jgd-il-Jagd clades as it establishes itself.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
In 977, a clade of Jgd-il-Jagd was established in a gas giant within this system. This is the most recent and smallest of their six clades. As of 1105, it doesn't extend beyond the Arend system. The Imperium considers the Jgd a friendly associate species with autonomous government, mostly because establishing relations outside of simple trade is all but impossible.
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]
Arend, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Nobility overseeing the world.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight.
- Arend is the personal fiefdom of the Duke Sir Derrick Jones, and this is to be reserved for his development.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Arend has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Arend has a population of 30,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Languages[edit]
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Arend possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Advanced automobiles.
- Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government (G)[edit]
Arend is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
World Law (L)[edit]
Arend has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
