Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Afhelydat has a pressure of 0.5 or less atmospheres. An Ellipsoid Atmosphere typically requires no survival gear under many conditions. The world’s surface is ellipsoidal, not spherical. Because the atmosphere remains spherical, surface atmospheric pressure ranges from very high at the middle to very low at the ends. Breathable bands may exist at some point within the range of pressure. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

World Starport[edit]

Afhelydat has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population[edit]

Afhelydat has a population of 9,000 sophonts (thousands).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.
  • The population consists entirely of Eslyat.

World Demographics[edit]

The Eslyat are split between three subraces:

  • Chutin: Sub-race of red-scaled Eslyat. In modern culture, a caste of police, warriors, sports performers and explorers.
  • Magsin: Sub-race of green-scaled Eslyat. A working class in modern Eslyat society.
  • Selyin: Sub-race of blue-scaled Eslyat, today an upper class of nobility, scholars and merchants.

World Languages[edit]

Urbanization[edit]

Eslyat prefer artificial habitats customised to their preferred environmental conditions, in terms of temperature and salinity.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Afhelydat possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Afhelydat has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.

World Law (L)[edit]

Afhelydat has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
