Corfu is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other lifeforms. The system has a population between 100,000 and 10 million sophonts. This world contains an archaeological site with artifacts suspected to be from the now-vanished Ancients. This world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it dangerous to visitors. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Aramis Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Corfu, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a baron. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]

- It is a red main sequence.
The world has a dense oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere with a temperate climate. [2]
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
In 1062 Corfu's population was stricken with a virulent pathogen known as the Corfu Claw Virus. While not possessing a high lethality rate, the disease was quite debilitating to its sufferers, and the Scout Service interdicted the world to prevent off-world transmission. [3]
1104 The Barony lapsed due to multiple factors including long CCV which impacted the very young and the elderly. For the young, it mainly resulted in near zero birth rates and for the elderly it was nearly always fatal. The IISS interdict was lifted when Norris appointed a new Baron. Paulina von Hagen.
In 1117, researchers at the University of Rhylanor developed a vaccine, and the interdiction was raised to amber in 1119. [2]
