::: In thinking more about this option I suggest using a category name of the form "X equipment". For example "Atmosphere equipment". Then the template becomes reusable across multiple articles as needed.

Feedback (2018)

User:Tjoneslo, how is the atmosphere article coming along? Is there anything missing that you have noticed so far? I am soliciting your feedback, please.

It looks great. You seem to have gotten all the subtle differences between the different versions of Traveller.
I would make two changes, and you should take this as ideas for improvement.
I have an aversion to hand curated lists, like the equipment list at the end of the article. I would add a category to the items in the list, so other items could also be added later. Then have a template like the Template:ClusterWorlds to display the list.
In thinking more about this option I suggest using a category name of the form "X equipment". For example "Atmosphere equipment". This would be extensible to (for example) "Vacuum World equipment" or "Water World equipment". Then more generalized to "Scout Survey equipment", and so on. Then the template becomes reusable across multiple articles as needed.
Atmospheres have two broad definition points: Atmospheric pressure and composition. The article alludes to this at several points. I would make explicit at the top of the article with a table of pressure vs composition, which contains the values of the Traveller atmosphere types (names & codes). World Builder's Handbook, First In, and Exotic Atmospheres all make this explicit. This would make the whole article flow better.

I like your idea. Go for it, not that you need my permission. I am trying to be encouraging and supportive. I value your contributions and ideas.

Please let me know how I can be supportive.
I am still working on coordinating the materials from World Builder's Handbook, First In, and others.
You may have noticed that I have been mapping out various ideas in publications one by one. It makes it easier to track and cite them.
I have a whole pile full of notes on Taints that I cam compiling and aggregating at the moment.
You are an important part of the team and I love it when you add your valuable viewpoint and ideas to our articles.
I am very good with you challenging anything that I do because I think it helps me to improve, which in turn helps us to improve the wiki. Thank you.

Humanocentrism (2018)

This would be a good example of the way Imperial society, while multicultural and multispecies, remains humanocentric or, at least Terracentric. The atmospheres listed as "standard" are atmospheres humans (and Vargr) tolerate the best while others are rated based on their similarity or dissimilarity to the standard.

- M. Kerwin.

Thank you for the great advice. I have crated an article on Conventional Life and am working towards that goal. Appreciate your advice.

Atmospheric Taints (2017)

JTAS #17 (Insert): Special Supplement 2: Exotic Atmospheres contained not only Exotic Atmosphere types, but also a number of "taints" or "irritants" that don't rise to the level of being corrosive.
--WHULorigan (talk) 14:01, 7 April 2018 (EDT)

Several books describe tainted atmospheres. It has also been a semi-frequent topic of inquiry for referees looking for examples over the years.

Notes (2016)

Note: In both MgT and T5, Atmospheric Codes "E" and "F" have switched meanings. Type "E" is now "Thin, Low", and Type "F" is now "Unusual" (which includes ellipsoidal, but is more broad in its application than this).
