Arias is a nonindustrial world, that requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- In a technological universe, societies without industrial capability generally suffer as nearly all manufactured and high tech goods must be brought in at significant cost.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- It is a member of the Grand United States of Quesada, which is a member state of the Solomani Confederation, in the Quesada Subsector of Aldebaran Sector.

World Starport
Arias has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Technology Level
Arias possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government
Arias has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
Each of the 6 mining settlements are self-governing.
The Arias downport is considered neutral-ground and a business site.
World Law Level
Arias is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

World Culture
Arias' culture still pays homage to the Church, and each settlement has a Dedicated Dome that is the spiritual center. That said, the ideals of proper dress and occupation are largely considered "academic" and are taught-but-not-done. Practicality overrules such dictates. Some rules regarding social interaction do remain, particularly those between men and women. Arian families each maintain a physical, bound carbon-fiber copy of the Quesadan Bible, passed from father to eldest son. The Church procures additional books as needed, at no cost.

Urbanization
All roads lead to the Arias Downport, are parallel to a heavy-rail line, and end in a low-tech mining settlement.
Each of the settlements is largely built of interconnected Orient domes.
The eldest settlement is called Ersterein, and is currently mostly abandoned. Its plastic domes have noticeable damage and only a few retain structural integrity.
The largest settlement is the second oldest one: Kabume. It was constructed originally using a nuclear mining charge. An extra-large Orient dome, mark IV, has been carefully situated above the chamber created, and structurally bolstered. The chamber beneath is largely airtight, and holds a multilevel set of internal domes, cubes, and spheres in clusters of multi-family arrangements. The bottom is concrete-filled with beryllium and lead shielding to insulate from the embers of the original radioactive glass at the bottom of the chamber. The actual reactor set is located in a connected chamber, bored in a conventional manner. Other side chambers have been constructed similarly for Administration, law enforcement, and a set of hydroponics farms.
Kabume's population is made mostly of the former population of Ersterein and their descendants.
