| Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance. | |
The Ballista class Solar Sailor is used as an escort and are dispatched in small groups to handle patrol and border enforcement duties.
- They are mobile and visible to dissuade piracy and commerce raiding.
Description (Specifications)
Locally built, these ships are a class of sleek, streamlined needle wedges. They are equipped with fuel scoops for ocean refueling and they have a purification refinery. They can carry two companies of marines. This design relies on its missile arsenal, it has seven triple missile turrets. The model 2 computer handles fire control, target lock and sensor sweeps. They use 700 square km of solar sails and rigging. Near a star they are capable of 0.1 G acceleration and carry enough fuel for two jumps.
History & Background (Dossier)
The Taa (world) navy has a flotilla of twelve of these Destroyer Escorts stationed at the Starport.
