Duseb is an icy, low-population world, with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts, warranting hazardous environment precautions.

System Data
The primary is Jurich, an ordinary red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.0136 Sols, a mass of 0.3626 Sols, and a diameter of 551,000 km. (I) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (II) a thin atmosphere iceworld, (III) Charlan, a ringed large gas giant: (IIIb) Duseb is its second moon and is designated the mainworld, (IV) an exotic atmosphere radworld, (V) a small gas giant, (VI) a small ice giant, and (VII) a vacuum iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
(III) Charlan
(III) Charlan is a large gas giant that orbits Jurich at a mean distance of 0.72 AU and has an orbital period of 1 year 29.5 days. It has a diameter of 112,000 km and is a heavily banded deep blue colour. It retains a family of three major satellites of which the second, (IIIb) Duseb, is designated the mainworld.
(IIIb) Duseb
(IIIb) Duseb is designated the mainworld and orbits Charlan at a mean distance of 15 Diameters (1.68 million km). It has an orbital period of 182 days 5 hours: it is tidally locked to its parent world. The axial tilt is 2 degrees. Duseb has a diameter of 3,406 km, a density of 6.12 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.29 G. Tidal stresses cause significant geological activity. Its atmosphere is rated as Trace, with a mean surface pressure of 0.05 bar and a composition of 95% carbon dioxide, 4% nitrogen and 1% water vapor, azane, carbon monoxide and other trace gases. Approximately 21% of the surface is covered in sheets of water-ice. Mean surface temperature: -133°C. The effects of the weather are negligible and the climate is static.

But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families, including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.
