History
During the Fourth Interstellar War the Vilani introduced attack Cruisers to combat the Terran's local naval superiority. The Sharurshid’s central management was able to construct large numbers of these new ships. The attack cruisers featured large spinal mounted particle accelerator weapons, not typically found on Vilani designs up to that time. The stand off missile barrage style which had served them in good stead, for so long, was being called into question, as a basis for offensive fleet strategy. The Solomani tactics of close range attack challenged the Vilani mind set and naval traditions. They were forced to adapt.
