Justince is a high-population world with a billion or more sophonts in population size. This world is designated an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. It is a member of Julian Protectorate in the Flange Subsector of Empty Quarter Sector and in the Hegemony of Lorean. This world hosts a Military Base for support of military ground forces. 20% of the world's population is the Major Race Vargr.

  • The world was first named Eguud by the Vilani.
  • The world of Eguuud was renamed Uatukoikaz by the Ssilnthis conquistadors. They were driven out of the system by the Human slaves of the local Vargr in 311, and the world was given the new human name of Justince.

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Justince is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Justince has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Justince has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History and Background[edit]

Home to twenty billion people, the world of Justince maintains a local Hegemony Communication Service base, roughly equivalent to a Scout Base in Imperial space. From such bases, the Hegemony of Lorean coordinates and supports their internal courier and mail services. In 985, Justince's starport was destroyed during a planetary conflict called the Justince War of Unification. When the war ended in 987, the previously balkanized nations had come under the control of the charismatic Vargr military leader, Aekuedza Roetsaeng. Personal freedoms are highly restricted as Justince slowly rebuilds and recovers from the recent conflicts. Many Imperials still consider the world government unstable, hence its classification as an Amber Zone. Despite travel advisories, the HCS base continues to operate by the leave of the Great Unifier Roetsaeng.

World Starport[edit]

Justince has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Timeline[edit]

These are some of the more important historical events that have affected this world and the surrounding region:

  • 311: Human slaves of local Vargr colonise the world, ehich is given the Human name of Justince.
  • 359-375: War of Man, as Humans rebel against repressive Vargr rule in coreward Empty Quarter Sector.
  • 814: The Third Imperium and the Arzula authorities forge a trading agreement, leading to the creation of the Deep Space Stations of the Saeghvung-Turley-Exile Run, crossing the Lesser Rift in Empty Quarter Sector.
  • 822-835: Much of Arzul Sector is conquered by the Arzula.
    • 835-860s: The Blighted War drains the Arzula's nascent Hegemony as it tries to conquer five subsectors.
  • 864: The modern Hegemony of Lorean is founded, starting out as a 'trade and aid' group of interstellar traders centred on a cluster of high-population systems dominating Mycocona Subsector.
    • The great success of this trade coalition leads to a sharp rise of economic and then military power.
  • 869-870: The repressive methods of the Hegemony, and the refusal of local resistance to buckle, leads to the Era of Horror in parts of coreward Empty Quarter Sector, as the Hegemony responds with undue cruelty against its enemies.
  • 872: The worlds of Kotsfa Subsector secede from the Hegemony, defying efforts to stop them.
    • Further disintegration is only prevented with the suicide of the Hegemon and radical economic reforms introduced by his successor.
  • 933-936: The defection of the Damlaer Union from the Julian Protectorate to the Hegemony leads to the Lorean Strikes. Failed military action leads to a major political crisis within the Protectorate.
  • 940: As part of this political upheaval, the government of the Ikonaz Sphere collapses, replaced by the Rukadukaz Republic.
  • 942: The Protectorate and the Hegemony formally sign the Treaty of Var-Inaka (restricting naval basing) and the Julian Concord, incorporating the Hegemony into the Julian Protectorate.
  • 985: The Justince War of Unification sees Justince's starport destroyed.
  • 987: The Justince War of Unification ends, with the previously balkanized nations under the control of the Vargr military leader, Aekuedza Roetsaeng.
