Shikhyuryatre is a nonindustrial, oceanic water world.
- It is covered with very deep oceans, of waterous (H2O) with less than 1% of its land above sea level.
- The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 1% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- This world is part of the Aslan Hierate, as a vassal clan dominate, in the Florian Subsector of Beyond Sector.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
This system is located on the Nora'a Spur, part of the Florian Main.
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
No information yet available.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Shikhyuryatre is a Big World between 18,400km and 20,000km diameter. The world has a high gravity between 1.9 and 2.0G. The horizon will appear about 6.3km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should not land on this world. Vessels with 2G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Shikhyuryatre has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Shikhyuryatre has 95-100% of its surface covered by liquid water with only a few islands and archipelagos. Wilderness refueling is possible. Such worlds are Water Worlds or Ocean Worlds.
Mainworld Topography and Geography[edit]
This is a "super-earth" high-gravity world, covered in a global ocean. A constant cyclone surrounds this tidally locked planet's bright pole.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Aslan Hierate has long maintained a station in orbit above the planet, while the Hkoauiyeao clan have constructed a large floating platform on the sea below.
World Starport[edit]
Shikhyuryatre has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Shikhyuryatre has a population of 30,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Demographics[edit]
- The population are Aslan.
The IISS has reported that the native iliisupashkashgek might be intelligent. The report, published in 1073, caused the expulsion of all Humans from the world, although exceptions are made for those with a valid clan-issued hunting permit.
World Languages[edit]
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Shikhyuryatre possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Shikhyuryatre is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
World Law (L)[edit]
Shikhyuryatre has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Criminal acts are rare but not unheard of in Aslan society. Crimes are different from the insults or slurs that provoke duels, and are classified into three categories: crimes of passion, crimes with victims, and crimes of honour.
- Crimes of passion involve misbehavior prompted by temper, anger, or provocation. The accused is judged by the head of the family, pride, or clan involved.
- Crimes with victims involve taking money or items of value, or violating the person of another for profit (kidnapping, terrorism, piracy). General practice is to have an impartial earleatrais consider the case and present findings.
- Crimes of honour involve failure to observe the rituals established for social behaviour. Judgement is made by the pride or clan head, depending on the severity of the crime. Crimes of honour are the most serious in Aslan society; in practice, most are never tried as a duel to the death occurs first.
