* Crimes with victims involve taking money or items of value, or violating the person of another for profit (kidnapping, terrorism, piracy). General practice is to have an impartial ''[[Dictionary:Earleatrais|earleatrais]]'' consider the case and present findings.

Hasawe'i is a low-population fluid world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts.

  • This world is part of the Aslan Hierate, as a single multiple-world clan dominate, in the Wahtoikoeakh Subsector of Riftspan Reaches Sector.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Hasawe'i had little value as a world, and its tiny population is nothing more than a scientific outpost maintained for the purposes of a territorial claim. Its starport, on the other hand, is far more significant, a large installation with well-equipped construction yards. These turn out a mix of military and non-military spacecraft, including system defence boats and insystem transports, most of which are taken to other worlds for sale, or else put into service by the clan.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Hasawe'i has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

No information yet available.

World Demographics[edit]

Aslan, population 100%

World Languages[edit]

  • Trokh: The universal language of the modern Aslan monoculture.
    • Aslan Languages: Note that some Aslan clans retain obscure or archaic languages for personal use in addition to Trokh.

World Government (G)[edit]

Hasawe'i is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions in the government. These positions are inherited by member of the group or their family members. The organization may be a monarchy, with titles passed to family members, or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Alternatively, the organization may be a more typical government apparatus, only with positions of power inherited.

World Law (L)[edit]

Hasawe'i has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Criminal acts are rare but not unheard of in Aslan society. Crimes are different from the insults or slurs that provoke duels, and are classified into three categories: crimes of passion, crimes with victims, and crimes of honour.

  • Crimes of passion involve misbehavior prompted by temper, anger, or provocation. The accused is judged by the head of the family, pride, or clan involved.
  • Crimes with victims involve taking money or items of value, or violating the person of another for profit (kidnapping, terrorism, piracy). General practice is to have an impartial earleatrais consider the case and present findings.
  • Crimes of honour involve failure to observe the rituals established for social behaviour. Judgement is made by the pride or clan head, depending on the severity of the crime. Crimes of honour are the most serious in Aslan society; in practice, most are never tried as a duel to the death occurs first.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Hasawe'i possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Military[edit]

No information yet available.

World Economy[edit]

A significant amount of tonnage is added each year to the in-system asteroid mining fleet that provides most of the yards' raw materials, and to the flotillas that defend it. The ostensible reason for all this activity is the availability of heavy metals and other important resources in the system’s planetoid belts, although the location of the system makes this somewhat implausible. There are other places a spacecraft construction facility and its associated mining and industrial supports could have been built, all of them more convenient for the end market and thus economically more viable.

In truth, the port at Hasawe'i was set up as a competitor for Hluarelai and a proportion of vessels making the trans-rift crossing now use Hasawe'i rather than the traditional route. For some this was a political decision, for others the choice was based on simple economic competition. Like all other decisions in the Hierate, the choice to create a competing port was a controversial one that caused inter-clan friction.
