Wih a population of 70 billion, it has the highest population in the subsector. The system belongs to the [[Solomani Confederation]] and is a founding member of the  [[Orichalc Regional Defense Association]] (ORDA).

Cthonia is famed for its educational system, which uses neuro-psychological techniques to meticulously channel children into those fields they are most likely to excel in. Candidates for leadership tend to be selected before they even reach adolescence, and similar techniques are used in many other aspects of Cthonian society.
