History & Background (Dossier)

ZaCH was founded in 707 by the merger of Zaimen Industries, Clammath Heavy Vehicles, and Hollings Corporation. The company initially produced personal weapons and armored vehicles to Imperial specifications. Over time, ZaCH has diversified such that it now produces everything from small arms to complete shipboard weapons systems. Starships and boats are not manufactured by the company, although aircraft and armored vehicles are.

ZaCH's activities take in every aspect of weapons design and procurement, from original design, to testing, production and long term support. It is interesting to note that ZaCH actively fields a number of mercenary units through their Hammer and Anvil Division. These units are used for final field testing, to obtain reliability, availability and maintainability data, as well as conduct public relations work to entice new customers.

As can be expected, ZaCH experienced a boom in orders for new products at the start of the Rebellion. The company's facilities remain untouched by the Rebellion due to their protected position in Gaussi subsector as well as the presence of a large contingent of corporate security forces. Mercenary units currently fielded by Hammer and Anvil Security include a Light Cavalry Battalion, a COACC Close Air Support (CAS) Squadron and a Tactical Planning Staff.
