History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
York (SR 0624), formerly known as Ishirshu (Anglic: Ishirshu), is a low-population, fluid ocean world with one large moon, located in Albadawi Subsector of the Solomani Rim.
Located in the of the Solomani Rim sector the world of York is a dry Earth sized (1G) dessert world with inland seas and has a Tech level 10 (Basic Fusion Age). This lightly populated backwater frontier world's atmosphere is breathable for the locals but for off worlders the atmosphere is only breathable for short periods of time (one week) for long term exposure filters or respirators are required due to an exotic element in the air which when refined is made into a powerful drug this drug is York's main export. York is a rather lawless world with a Law Level 3 (Machine guns, automatic rifles prohibited). the local born Solomani act as strong men holding power in the villages around the farmlands near the inland seas and the few drug refineries. York's star port is a "low port" (on the planet) with facilities for small craft that offers refined fuel. The port has lodge for the Traveller Aid Society with an attached drug den which is a source of pride for the locals.
