Wisp is a poor, low-population hellworld with a population less than 10,000 sophonts struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants. Survivors often form intense survival skills and tend to be grim realists.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Paradise Subsector of Halcyon Sector.

System Data[edit]
Willo-Wisp System[edit]
The primary is Willo, an ordinary red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.0202 Sols, a mass of 0.3942 Sols, and a diameter of 604,000 km. (I) Wisp, designated the mainworld, (II) a vacuum worldlet, (III) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (IV) a small gas giant, (V) a small ice giant, and (VI) a vacuum iceworld form the outer zone. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Edna-Arthur Subsystem[edit]
The companion is Edna, a red subdwarf star that lies around 4900 AU from Willo. It has a luminosity of 0.002 Sols, a mass of 0.104 Sols, and a diameter of 145,000 km. (I) a vacuum iceworld, (II) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (III) a large gas giant, (IV) a small gas giant, and (V) an exotic atmosphere bigworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Arthur Secondary Subsystem[edit]
The far companion is Arthur, a magenta-coloured L-type brown dwarf that orbits Edna at a mean distance of 81 AU (orbital position (XI), 12.1 billion km) and has an orbital period of 1161 years. It is not luminous, it has a mass of 0.063 Sols and a diameter of 60,000 km. (I) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (II) a vacuum worldlet, (III) a trace atmosphere iceworld, and (IV) a vacuum iceworld form the outer system. None of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data[edit]
(I) Wisp[edit]
(I) Wisp is designated the mainworld. It orbits Willo at a mean distance of 0.15 AU (22.4 million km), within the outer system. It has an orbital period of 33 days 19 hours: it is tidally locked to Willo. The axial tilt is 1 degree. Wisp has a diameter of 4,688 km, a density of 6.39 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.43 G. The world is flexed by tidal forces and is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 0.45 bar and a composition of 82% nitrogen (N2), 17% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by high levels of background radiation: emission rates exceed 40 rads per hour. Approximately 23% of the surface is covered in seas of water kept liquid by geothermal heat generated by subsurface radioactives: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: -23°C. The climate is rated as Cold and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star scour the surface. The climate is static.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
Total surface area: 69 million km², Land surface area: 53 million km², Water surface area: 16 million km².
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Willo-Wisp System[edit]
Willo, the mainworld, Wisp's warm seas teem with microscopic multicellular organisms that are tolerant of the high radiation levels. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The small gas giant lying in orbital position (IV) (within the outer system) has jovionoid lifeforms within its atmosphere.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.
Edna-Arthur Subsystem[edit]
No world in the subsystem is known to have native life.
Arthur Secondary Subsystem[edit]
No world in the subsystem is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
No information yet available.
World starport[edit]
Wisp has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level[edit]
Wisp possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Advanced automobiles.
- Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World government[edit]
Wisp has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
