Despite a long-standing agreement and heavy investment in the firm, Fringe Transport Services, a large Transport and Logistics company, has publicly announced its intention to scale back its usage of Verrell-designed equipment and subsystems in favour of units produced by Spinward Metallworks AG. This follows recent negative publicity over Verrell's Nova-500 maneuver propulsion systems. These were rumored to be rushed into production to replace older Odleveckor Precision Gravitics Mark 27 Unified Field Maneuver Systems, wildly popular and considered by many as the industry standard at TL–11. Some smaller off world sub-contractors have been blamed for the loss in quality control levels.
