Vapor is a barren world with no overt population, government, or law level.
- This world could be populated if anyone had an inclination to do so...
- This dangerous world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions make it dangerous to visitors.
- This die back world was once settled and developed, but the inhabitants have either died off or left leaving behind the ruins and remnants of their civilization.
- It is a member of the Solomani Preserve in the Old Perch Subsector of Thaku Fung Sector.

History and background[edit]
This is one of the three "egg worlds" of the Solomani Preserve, the other two being Havensmith and Anagathica. It was the third colonized, in the early -1500s; from then until -777 these three would be the totality of the Preserve's inhabited worlds (excluding Bridgeholm, far off and keeping to itself during this time).
It was always the poor cousin to the two other eggs. Havensmith had almost all the people. Anagathica had the incredibly important, life-preserving anagathics. Vapor was the only one of the three with lanthanum, which was vital to manufacturing more ships that could jump from star to star, but this was mainly in its asteroid belt; the colony itself was there to support belt miners. Belt mining produced other ores as well, and at first seemed like it might be Vapor's ticket to a developing economy, but over time the VoidBridges eclipsed Vapor's output, lowering the prices until belt mining was largely unprofitable. Efforts to introduce aquaculture for export met with mild success, generating just enough revenue to keep the colony from being completely abandoned.
Vapor was merely there when the Preserve began populating other worlds in -777. It was all but irrelevant when, in 1, the Preserve discovered sophontic life spinward of itself and opened up that area to colonization. Certain historians with a poetic bent say there was a sigh of relief when the Empress Wave "forced" evacuation in the 1050s; there could easily have been low berth vaults set up to sleep through the Wave, but almost everybody chose to simply leave, and the few who did not were consciously choosing death.
As of 1105 there is debate about whether, despite its proximity to Havensmith, Vapor may be the last evacuated Solomani Preserve colony that will be repopulated. Also, rumors that the Wave pushed some of the aquaculture livestock into sophontic territory have yet to be confirmed or denied, as that would require surveying each population including any that have escaped into the wilds (most problematically including the deep oceans). The wildest of these rumors claim that deliberate experiments in uplift had been conducted in secret for over a century, using the relative anonymity of Vapor as cover, kicked into high gear after the Wave was discovered.
World Starport[edit]
Vapor does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.
World Technology Level[edit]
Vapor possesses a Technology Level of TL–0.
- These worlds often contain a Proto-Sophont species beginning to establish a nascent civilization and society.
- This world is in its Alpha Period and has not yet been interfered with by a higher technology civilization.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Bodily communicative apparati, courier-runners, and smoke signals.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Bodily muscle.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Bodily locomotion, riding beasts, and litters or sedan chairs.
- Water: Swimming, rafts, and canoes.
- Air: Typically not available unless a bodily ability.
World Government[edit]
Vapor has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
