The Domain of Diaspora is an archaic name for the Domain of Sol from the early days after its creation in 76 [1][2] until it was renamed by Empress Jaqueline I in 583 upon the official appointment of its first Archduke.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Early Names[edit]

In the early antebellum period prior to its renaming by Jaqueline I, the Domain of Sol was occasionally and unofficially referred to by several terms [3]:

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Prior to the reincorporation of the bulk of the Solomani Rim (the ancient "Rim Province") into the early and expansionist Third Imperium (and the reincorporation of the Solomani Rim Sector and Sol Subsector in particular), the Domain of Sol was known (both officially and unofficially) by several different names. During this time no Archduke presided over the region, and with the Archdukedom in a state of abeyance what governmental apparatus existed with respect to the Domain was handled as a Rim March extension of the Domain of Sylea.

The eventual incorporation of Rim States such as the Easter Concord in 426 and the Vegan Polity led eventually to overtures with other Rim State polities in the region that resulted in the formal renaming of the Domain to the Domain of Sol in 583, shortly before the incorporation of the Dingir League in 586, and finally of the Old Earth Union (and of Terra in the Sol system itself) in 588.
