Sharim is a nonindustrial world, that requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- In a technological universe, societies without industrial capability generally suffer as nearly all manufactured and high tech goods must be brought in at significant cost.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- This world toils under the control of a military government with conditions reflecting that situation, including curtailed civil rights and limited freedoms.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Laeth Subsector of Gushemege Sector in the Domain of Vland.
- This world has an Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships.

Stellar Data[edit]
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The people of Sharim traditionally had a very rational world view, especially during the trials of the Long Night. Around the dawn of the Third Imperium, when off-world contact started to pick up, a new religion appeared and quickly gained ground amongst the population. Called Auug by its adherents, the religion is based around interactive monotheism but believes in random reincarnation. This religion is now only loosely organized, with small groups controlled by local priests, but has controlled more of the world in the past. The most recent of these dominant periods led to violence against the Imperial facilities on the world in 936. The response by the Imperium was to revoke Sharim's autonomy and place it directly under an Imperial Governor. This position required enough resources and talent that it was elevated to Ducal status in 984, and the holder remains a "March" Duke 130 years later.
Auug adherents are still considered eccentric, but the streak of violence 200 years ago is no longer considered normal amongst the membership.
Imperial High & Landed Nobility[edit]
Sharim, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdoms of two members of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight, the Imperial representative to the world.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial count.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial minor duke.
World Starport[edit]
Sharim has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- There is an associated Imperial Naval Base, hosting elements of the 39th Fleet.
World Population (P)[edit]
Sharim has a population of 1,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
World Demographics[edit]
The Sharim are primarily of Vilani descent.
Records indicate that there were Droyne on this world when the first Vilani landed, some 7,000 years ago. For most of the First Imperium, the Humans and Droyne lived in peace, but in later eras relations deteriorated and the Droyne population largely emigrated away.
