Quichotte is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Old Islands Subsector of Reft Sector.
- This world-system has a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.
- This world is controlled from Joyeuse (Reft 1628).
Description / Astrography & Planetology[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
System Data[edit]
The gas giant is used for petrochemical skimming, while mining bases are present on various bodies around the outsystem. Rather than shipping the produce of these sites back to the mainworld, a central industrial terminus has been set up in orbit around one of the rockball worlds.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Quichotte is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Quichotte has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Quichotte has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
This world was colonized from Amondiage (Reft 2325) with a sublight ship during the initial expansion of the Islands Cluster. [2]
After the introduction of the jump drive to the cluster, Quichotte joined Joyeuse (Reft 1628) to form a small pocket empire. [3]
World Starport[edit]
Quichotte has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Quichotte has a population of 6,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Languages[edit]
World Technology Level[edit]
Quichotte possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fission power generation, advanced water and wind generation of electricity.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, early ATV's, and dedicated AFV's.
- Water: Amphibious vehicles, improved submersibles, and early SCUBA gear.
- Air: Early jet aircraft and rotorcraft VTOL's.
- Space: Early unmanned rocket delivery systems and early manned orbital rockets.
- While Quichotte has a local sustainable TL-6, the capital has a limited amount of TL-12 industry, dedicated to supporting the military forces on the planet. There is sufficient excess to provide the capital's citizens with a good standard of living.
World Government[edit]
Quichotte has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
Governance of this world is from Joyeuse.
World Law (L)[edit]
Quichotte has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Military[edit]

World Economy[edit]
Despite determined efforts, this world could never achieve the critical mass needed to become a credible interstellar economy. Assistance from Joyeuse helped the colonists overcome a string of crises, and finally a request was made to become a province of Joyeuse.
