The Omaha system is a complex system hosting 3 gas giant worlds. These giants each host 3 viable large moons, and other smaller moons of varying usefulness. There are also 3 planets other than the mainworld of sufficient mass to clear their orbits of other bodies. Perhaps as a result of these substantial bodies, there is no substantial belt system.

The Solomani Confederation maintains a strategic Naval base in the innermost Gas Giant system, Brasxus, across all 3 of its larger moons.

The Solomani Marine Corps maintains and operates its own bases on those moons, and engages in continuous training operations with the Navy.

The Omaha mainworld is close to garden world status. It is a standard sized world with a majority hydrosphere and standard atmosphere, albeit tainted with higher amounts of nitrogen and carbon dioxide; this is another way to indicate that the atmosphere is lower in oxygen than is comfortable for some sophonts.

Omaha lies towards the colder side of the lifezone for this system.

World Starport

Omaha has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

Omaha Alta is a well-equipped high port. Local system beacons indicate that all traffic are required to dock here for customs processing.

Each of the continents hosts its own downport, with the Capitolus downport being the largest and best equipped. Military craft apparently have dedicated space ports in restricted mountainous regions.

Omaha is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.

World Law Level

Omaha has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Omaha has a federal-style government, with a unicameral legislature, a supreme court system, and Senior Chief Executive. Each continent also has its local implementation of that same structure, with its own Chief Executive. There is a constitutional system that defines the limits of the federal governments power over the continental governments.

The government maintains a largely volunteer army which is equipped for emergency response. There is a wet navy which aids in resolving shipping/transport issues. There appears to be at least 2 SDBs operable at this time.
