Niirp'tki is a high-population, pre-rich world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.

  • It lacks adequate resources to expand its economy to a rich status.
  • Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
  • It is a non-aligned, Human-dominated world in the Krukurragzal Subsector of Star's End Sector.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Niirp'tki is a Small World between 4,000km and 5,600km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.24G and 0.34G. The horizon will appear about 3km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Niirp'tki has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Niirp'tki has 15-25% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. There may be a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Although independent of K'kree control, Niirp'tki is heavily influenced by them as a consequence of astrography, and indeed carries a K'kree name. The world's trade partners are primarily members of the K'kree client state two parsecs distant. Its own natural resources are scarce; Niirp'tki has thrived by providing K'kree-dominant societies with services better performed by Humans and Vargr (its primary demographics) -- this includes serving as middlemen in dealings with polities of Gateway Sector, who generally distrust K'kree.

The system's gas giant is home to Jgd-il-Jagd, part of the clade centered on Gh'kabrroo.

World Starport[edit]

Niiirp'tki has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Niiirp'tki has a population of 6,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

World Demographics[edit]

  • Human, more than 50% of the population
  • Jgd-il-Jagd (not on the mainworld; at the gas giant)
  • Vargr, 30% of the population
  • Various K'kree subject races

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Niirp'tki possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Advanced automobiles.
    • Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
    • Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
    • Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World Government (G)[edit]

Niirp'tki is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.

World Military[edit]

As a Jgd-inhabited system, the vicinity of at least one of the gas giants is patrolled by a number of their powerful vessels; these rarely take much interest in outside affairs unless Jgdi interests are threatened. Fuel-skimming a Jgd world is extremely unwise; shock waves from the pass may cause severe harm, and the Jgd are certain to retaliate with high-energy weapons fire.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Niirp'tki has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked. There is no legal concept of privacy (save for those who can claim necessity for official government business). The police are free to inspect anyone and anything at any time.
