Nemesis is a pre-agricultural, pre-Industrial world with a moderate population of over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts.

  • It requires significant imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
  • Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to slowly improve barring outside forces.
  • It is a member of the Corellan League in the Freya Subsector of the Beyond Sector.
  • This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below standard for Charted Space.
  • This world-system has a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.
  • This world has a colony at Talmut.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

This world is located within the namesake Nemesis Void.

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Nemesis is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Nemesis has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Nemesis has 75-85% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few large continents and extensive islands. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Nemesis was settled by Humans in 764.

Since few Corellan League starships can manage a four parsec jump, most ships bound for Nemesis carry enough fuel for a pair of two parsec jumps. The high cost in time and effort for a round trip discourages most outsiders from visiting.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Nemesis has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Nemesis has a population of 100,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The common language is "Corellan Galanglic", a distinct dialect of Anglic.

World Government (G)[edit]

Nemesis is governed by a Religious Dictatorship. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy). There is a powerful independent organization, the state religion, which has influence or direct control of the government. Like the bureaucratic governments this may simply be a strong influence with a secular government, be direct influence by virtue of controlling who may be in the leadership, or be a direct theocracy where the church leadership and bureaucracy is the government.

As a full member of the Corellan League, Nemesis sends two representatives to the League Assembly, which convenes aboard the Capital Orbital habitat, a station in geosynchronous orbit above Corella. The jump-4 vessels that ferry Nemesis' representatives to and from the Assembly (and provide communications services to the rest of the League) are among the most advanced ships in Beyond Sector.

World Military[edit]

The Corellan League Star Fleet maintains a small defense force in orbit.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Nemesis has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked. There is no legal concept of privacy (save for those who can claim necessity for official government business). The police are free to inspect anyone and anything at any time.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Nemesis possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.
