- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Diamond-Prince Subsector of Ley Sector in the Domain of Gateway.

Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]
Lepanto, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdom of a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversees affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.

World Starport[edit]
Lepanto has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Technology Level[edit]
Lepanto possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.

- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.

- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
Being a small, agricultural and non-industrial world, however, manufacturing at this tech level is limited to a few standardized designs of agricultural equipment, parts to sustain these, and pricey custom manufacturing of parts and even whole assemblies. Anything at TL 9 or below can be repaired or even produced at higher to even exorbitant prices.
Higher tech is of course available at a premium as trade goods, usually from Dadegadi or Annapabar, but the ability to repair such will be severely diminished, if not impossible, with local assets.
World Government[edit]
Lepanto is a Captive Government of Dadegadi.
While this classification is often considered a colony or vassal state, Lepanto is treated as a group of provinces of the representative democracy of Dadegagi, itself a federal form of government. While politically galling, with the chief executive sitting on a planet 2 parsecs away with less than 2% of Lepanto's population, this arrangement allows a beneficial trade relationship to both. The resentment is lessened by the relative tranquility of Lepanto, and the benefits it reaps from Dadegagi's trade and protection.
World Military[edit]
As part of what is in essence of naval state of Dadegadi, Lepanto is provided with a rotation of naval assets from the homeworld, which usually amount to three Type TP Patrol Cruisers of the standard design, with 5 additional armed Ship's Boats.
There is a robust reserve system, in which the crews of Dadegadi's 16 naval reserve far traders are made up of members of the naval reserve, who have served at least one active term in a navy and are subject to recall in time of war. There are also 2 privateers, older type TP's that are bought out of the service, with letters of marque from the subsector duke against pirates, that are part of the naval reserve.
The fact that Dadegadi is the capital for Diamond-Prince Subsector puts Lepanto in a favorable position as a transit and even lager point for subsector forces. It is not unusual for one of the subsector's three Company Strike Force Squadrons to be lurking past the far orbit of the Lepanto system, before moving on, together or singly, to patrol through the subsector's backwaters, or take over a convoy. These squadrons each have three Type C Mercenary Cruisers, and one Type TP Patrol Cruiser, and can land a company.
There is a Battalion of the Dadegagi Marine Reserve posted between Lepanto's downport, highport, and the Dadegagi navy typically in-system. An additional battalion is typically on Lepanto proper, outside the Extrality line. The Lepanto Home Guard is a force of some three battalions light infantry, and one battalion of grav carriers, plus all combat support and combat service support for an infantry brigade combat team equipped to TL-12. Most soldiers in the Home Guard are conscripts undergoing their four years of mandatory military service, though a core of about 30% are continuing professionals. Lepanto also provides most of the manning for the Heavy Brigade Combat Team stationed on Dadegagi, and both BCTs are actually part of the Dadegagi Defense Forces.
World Economy[edit]
The agricultural economy of Lepanto is well-mechanized, and supplies the surrounding worlds with agricultural goods. For Ohasset alone, every day sees the loading of 50,000 dtons of high-grade agricultural or aquacultural goods onto two of Ohasset's purpose-built mega-freighters. The return freight space is essentially empty, while bringing all the raw materials and high-technology goods Lepanto can buy.
Trade Data[edit]
Lepanto's location makes it a good link between the 12 worlds of the relatively developed and strategically important Dadegadi Cluster and the backwaters of the mining branch of the Ohasset Main. Thus an annual trade volume of some 21,900,000 dtons passes through Lepanto's starport, most of which originates on the world itself as foodstuffs bound for Ohasset. This great bulk however, is mostly not speculative trade, but long contracted-for supply. There are several Broker-3s to be had on the highport, however, and the fluctuations inherent in agriculture, and of transiting mining products and technology, make speculative trading at this busy port a fairly lucrative proposition.
