Lablon is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other lifeforms. The system has a population between 100,000 and 10 million sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Aramis Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Lablon, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a baron. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
- It is a member of the Towers Cluster
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Lablon is a binary star system.
- The primary is a turbulent red giant.
- The secondary is a red main sequence.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The name of the world is sometimes spelled Labion.
The system's huge primary star causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.
Lablon was not settled until nearly 600 and remains lightly populated. The world lies at the very edge of the subsector; its economy is supported mostly by the sale of agricultural produce through a local Trade Station, operated by the Scout Service to promote trade with the neighboring Vargr.[2]
Oberlindes Lines, Akerut, and numerous Vargr trading organizations (most from the Thoengling Empire) all maintain offices on Lablon.
Most of the population lives in small farming towns scattered about the most fertile areas of the four continents. The government is called the Lablon Planetary Cartel; its main duty is insuring that no community exports goods for other than the legally set prices; since the prices are high, there is little resistance.[2]
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Lablon has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Lablon has a population of 500,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Government (G)[edit]
Lablon is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.
- This government is the Lablon Planetary Cartel.
World Law Level (L)[edit]
Lablon has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Lablon possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
